Thermal pools with healing properties, The source temperature of the thermal baths varies between 30°C and 70°C (86°F and 158°F). Papallacta´s thermal waters contain sulfates, sodium, calcium, chloride and traces of magnesium which are odourless, colourless but have a slightly salty taste.

MINDO CLOUD FOREST TOUR

Hummingbirds -- known in Ecuador as quinde o colibri . Mindo´s cloud forests is the native habitat of more than 470 species (the highest of any locality in western Ecuador), including many threatened species. The Mindo area has won the Christmas Bird Count for three consecutive years.

Early in the morning we leave Quito to the Northwest part of the Pichincha province, passing through the edge of the Andes, lush vegetation and orchids await us in our first stop Pahuma, a protected area by the inhabitants of the sector. We continue our descent to the town of Mindo in which we visit the Butterfly Garden one of the most important protected areas of butterflies from South America, optional one of the activities of extreme sports in Mindo, canopy or sliding down a wire of two towers. QUILOTOA CRATER LAKE

A gem of the Andes by a beautiful emerald lake, is located in the province of Cotopaxi, in the parish of Zumbahua and is part of the Ecological Reserve Ilinizas, at 3,800 meters above sea level, Read more… it has become a way of life of its inhabitants, from Quito 165 km by car you will see beautiful landscapes. It's a half-hour hike down from the viewpoint (and 1-2 hour hike back up the 280-meter vertical ascent), and very basic lodging down in its bowl.

We depart early in the morning through the Avenue of the Volcanoes to visit the Laguna Quilotoa which is one of the most beautiful and breathtaking, a tranquil, mesmerizing glass-green lake lying in the crater of an extinct volcano. The volcanic crater is still perfectly formed, allowing visitors to see its past history and formidable power.
We will walk down from the top of the crater to the lake's edge. Once at the bottom of the lake, there isn't much to do other than relax and enjoy the tranquility. The return walk back to the top of the crater you can ascending to the top by mule. Optional Lunch and return to Quito.
CUENCA CITY TOUR
For its charming historical center, the churches, the small cobbled streets and colonial houses with noble facades, prim balustrades, wrought iron balconies and red tiled roofs, it was declared as World Heritage Site by the UNESCO in 1999.
The impressive churches in the old center are dating back to the 16th to 17th century and if you believe it, or not, this is the city of churches with 52 churches, one for every Sunday! Being in the historical center, you might get the impression that time has stood still.

The city tour will start at the colonial part of the city of Cuenca. Then visit the modern arts museum where many contemporary artworks are displayed. We will walk by the downtown historical area to visit the San Francisco market, the flower market, the culture house, the Abdon Calderon Park, and the old cathedral (we will not enter). We will enter in the New Cathedral, it’s the biggest in the country there we’ll observe the famous gold leaf canopy.
We continue the tour to the Homero Ortega factory to observe the complete process of manufacturing of the misnamed Panama hat which is authentically Ecuadorian,undoubtedly most important to our country. Later we will visit the “barranco” with its colonial style terraced houses located next to the “Tomebamba River”. Also we will also observe the “broken bridge” and finally visit the tourist balcony of “Turi” where we can see a panoramic view of the whole city of Cuenca. Then return to the Hotel
These are the largest known Inca ruins in Ecuador. The most significant building is the temple of the sun, an elliptically shaped building constructed around a large rock. The building is constructed in the Inca way without mortar in most of the complex.
The Ingapirca area is a blooming parish of southern Ecuador located in Cañar province, with an area of 240 square kilometers and a population of approximately 14,000 inhabitants

The archeological site of Ingapirca is located 80 km north of Cuenca. We start our tour by visiting the “Virgin del Rocio” church in Biblian (on Wednesdays), its architecture shows a very interesting gothic style from the beginning of the 20th century.
We will continue our trip with the visit to an indigenous family’s home, to observe the knitting of the Panama hat which is the main handy craft of the country and forms an important income for the native people from the southern part of Ecuador.
Finally, we will visit the archeological site of Ingapirca to observe each one of the buildings such as “Cañaris” and “Incas” from there we will visit the museum located next to the ruins. After this we will have lunch and return to the city of Cuenca.-
GUALACEO & CHORDELEG
Day Trip to Gualaceo and Chordeleg from Cuenca these two towns, which are within walking distance of each other, host an arts and crafts market that is different from any other market that tourists may encounter while traveling through this fascinating country.
The deep-rooted culture of Ecuador is well represented in the arts and crafts of Gualaceo and Chordeleg. Visiting these interesting towns and surrounding areas will certainly give tourists a deeper understanding of the people that call Ecuador home.

We start our tour out of the northwestern side of the city of Cuenca with a visit to “San Bartolome” a little town next to the Andes mountain range, with an amazing view of the valley of River Santa Bárbara. This town is famous for its crafty artisans in making guitars. We will visit a traditional shop to observe the process of making this musical instrument. We continue to “Chordeleg” a town known around the country for its ceramic, gold and silver jewelry and above all for their fine filigree work made of gold and silver threads.
Here we will be able to go shopping and the artisans will show us the way they elaborate the jewelry. There we can then take a walk around its central plaza where we will observe countless crafts and shops. Later, we will continue to “Gualaceo” to visit 2 important markets that are known for their variety of products and the colorful scenery. Then we’ll stop for lunch, after visit a textile shop where we’ll observe the back strap loom and the horizontal loom weaving and how a variety of products are made, they will also show us the Hispanic technique of “Ikat” to make shawls and ponchos. Then return to Cuenca.
GUAYAQUIL CITY TOUR
Guayaquil is Ecuador´s largest city with about 3,000,000 inhabitants. Situated at sea level its port “Puerto Maritimo” is the main sea port of the country where about 80% of the country´s imports and more than 50% of its exports are handled.
It is the commercial and industrial center of Ecuador and lies on the west bank of the river Guayas about 60 km from its outflow in the Gulf of Guayaquil.

Traveling along the main streets and avenues of the city we will visit the Simón Bolívar Park, The Guayaquil embankment, La Rotonda with the statues of Bolivar and Saint Martin. We will then visit the colonial neighborhood of Las Peñas, where we can admire the magnificent wood architecture where every house is a work of art. From here we can take a panoramic view of Guayaquil and the Guayas River.

The Ríos Toachi and Blanco are a fantastic introduction to the rivers of Ecuador. The day starts when we pick you up from our Meeting Point at Magic Bean (7.00am corner of Foch y Juan León Mera). We travel west down through beautiful cloud forest to the shores of the river. The trip will take about 3 hours.
Before setting off we will fit you with life jackets and helmets, give you a comprehensive safety briefing and train each crew in the paddling techniques needed to navigate our way down the river.
During the trip we’ll stop by the side of the river for a delicious picnic lunch including fresh tropical fruits and served with soft drinks, juice and water. At the end of the trip we celebrate a fun day on the river with a few ice-cold beers and return to Quito. Arrival time is approximately 7pm but may be earlier or later depending on the river level and traffic conditions.
